Seasoned Green Beans with Red Pepper Strips                

Recipe Serves 2 (One serving - 3/4 cup)  

Ingredients:

8 ounces (1/2 pound) fresh green beans

1 small red bell pepper, cut into quarter inch strips

1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce

1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds, or for a lower salt
         version, use no salt added sunflower seeds

1/2 teaspoon sesame or olive oil  

Kitchen Equipment Needed:

Medium-large saucepan

Colander

Small frying pan

Serving bowl

Measuring spoons  

Directions:

1. Trim green beans and cook in boiling water until tender.

2. Drain and rinse beans in cold water

3. Place sesame/sunflower seeds in small dry sauté pan over medium heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently.

4. Put beans in serving bowl with pepper strips and toss with remaining ingredients.

5. Serve at room temperature, or chilled.
