CLASSES

 

  • Diabetes Dayton offers a two part diabetes education class multiple times per year   

  • Classes are taught by both a Certified Diabetes Educator and a Registered Dietitian

  • Open to newly diagnosed diabetics (Types 1 or 2), pre-diabetics and those interested in a refresher class

Diabetes Survival Skills (101)

What you'll learn in our two part Class:

  • Explanation of the disease

  • Proper monitoring

  • Taking medications and insulin

  • Treating highs and lows

  • Introduction to meal planning

  • Three steps of eating well

  • Understanding carbs

  • Choosing foods and reading labels

  • Extras: sugar substitutes, alcohol, discretionary food

  • Exercise

Class Dates/Times: The second Wednesday of each month

6:00 - 7:30 pm.

Topics will include diabetes self management and prevention, stress management, healthy eating, depression, sleep and more!
