Our Mission

Diabetes Dayton is dedicated to the assistance and support of individuals affected by diabetes.

We are a local, independent diabetes agency serving the Dayton area.  We are not affiliated with other agencies like the American Diabetes Association (ADA) or the Juvenile Research Foundation (JDRF).

Diabetes in Ohio

  • Ohio has an 8.1% rate of diabetes in adults, higher than the national average of 7.9%.
  • Montgomery County has 13.1% rate of diabetes in its residents. Diabetes is the 6th leading cause of death in Ohio.
  • The direct and indirect cost of diabetes in Ohio totals an estimated $5.9 billion.

Our mission, as an independent diabetes organization, is to assist and support all individuals affected by diabetes so they can live quality, productive lives.
