Diabetes Dayton is completely aligned with and supports the City of Dayton and Montgomery County in declaring systemic racism a public health crisis. Diabetes specifically Type 2 diabetes, disproportionately affects minority populations, particularly the African American community. It is our stance to combat health disparities and social inequalities by providing support and resources to this community and beyond. Diabetes does not discriminate, and our agency does not tolerate racism because Diabetes Dayton's mission is to serve ALL who come to us seeking help. We are here to provide those affected by diabetes with what they need right now, in order to live healthy, productive lives, and that includes addressing the barriers that prevent this. Diabetes Dayton sincerely believes that Black lives DO matter! As such, we will continue to be catalyst for change, health equality, and diabetes advocacy in our community.
